Angel has 15 years of professional playing experience with the NY Mets, NY Yankees, ATL Braves and Bridgeport Bluefish organizations. He is currently the all-time Bridgeport Bluefish leader in hits, stolen bases and triples.
In 1999, he was named the Baseball America All-Independent League shortstop. Angel was the Atlantic League Batting Champion with a .356 batting average in 1999, and again in 2000 hitting .337. With over 1,000 career hits, Angel holds a life-time batting average of .307. He currently works as the hitting coach for The Florida Marlins Triple A affiliate.
